Their story began at a local CrossFit gym in Lake Forest, Illinois, where they both joined within a month of each other. Davis had just moved to Illinois to begin medical school, while Sam was serving in the United States Navy at Naval Station Great Lakes.

It didn't take long before they became workout partners, and their self-appointed "gym mom" quickly decided they'd make the perfect couple. After a little persistence (and plenty of encouragement from their gym friends), they finally went on their first date over pizza.

Over the next few years, their relationship was built on encouragement, laughter, and cheering each other on through every challenge. When Davis matched into residency in Florida, Sam made the move south with her to pursue his master's degree and continue his service in the Navy Reserve.

Three years after that first pizza date, Sam asked Davis to marry him on top of Glassy Mountain, the mountain where she grew up, surrounded by the people they love most. It was the easiest "yes" they had ever shared.

From workout partners to best friends, Davis and Sam are building a life rooted in love, faith, adventure, and supporting one another through every season. They can't wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of their favorite people!
